This is your yearly reminder that consumerism is real. Even so, I consider it a moral obligation to consume copious amounts of chocolate. Here's your valentine. Now you can't say I never gave you anything. #haikusday #millennialAF #MPFA #loveinthetimeofcorona

W2's, 1099's, and 1040's....Oh my! Taxation without desperation, I don't know her. #adultingishard #haikusday #millennialAF
History has a way of revealing truths that we didn't know in the present; a way of revealing in full what was only known in part. Photo by Moose Photos from Pexels. Words by me, of course. #haikusday #millennialAF
The fact that one's DNA expresses itself in melanated skin, textured hair, or that their ancestors hail from some non-European locale does not exclude them from the implicit biases commonly associated with being racist. It is not unheard of for BIPOC (Black/Indigenous/People of Color) to internalize racism, then propagate it themselves. To that end, the adjacency argument, wherein one's proximity to BIPOC relieves them of all real or perceived prejudices (RE: my brother-in-law is black or my neighbor is Mexican or, the classic, I have a Native American friend), is also invalid. Therefore, we should explore our implicit biases and work to cure those which do not contribute to our humanity overall. #haikusday #MPFA #makepoetryfunagain #millennialAF
This year, some influential "people of God" have decided to cash in their flock for financial gain. In the name of faith, these shepherds have led their multitudes into potential peril in hopes that their coveted coinage is relinquished more readily in the house of the Lord. The question is, will they keep this same energy when their congregation is in need? "And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves." #millennialAF #haikusday #kayenjee #showmethelie
Surprise Grinches! I'm kicking off the 2020 Send Off with another haiku this week. Some call it laziness, but the ubiquitous haters don't understand my niche, which is full of seventeen-syllable revelations. #haikusday #MPFA #makepoetryfunagain
#millennialAF #merrywhateveryoucelebrate The good thing about a global pandemic, combined with questionable leadership and an irresponsible constituency is that you get to spend a lot of time with family. Like, A LOT a lot. A huevo. Although I'm an introvert who enjoys quiet alone time, I've settled into a place of enjoying the constant closeness of others. One could say I am comforted by their proximity, and drama.... and noise. Going "back to normal" might be a bit of a struggle. #haikusday #MPFA #makepoetryfunagain #millennialAF #quarantinemood
Anyone who has laid a child peacefully to sleep and then tried to make a stealthy exit holds these truths to be evident: 1) The floor will creak when you walk on it, and 2) The door will creak when you close it. For this reason, one must always carefully and thoroughly plan their route of escape. As usual, I'm serving #firstworldproblem realness. #haikusday #kayenjee #MPFA #makepoetryfunagain #betterlatethannever
An uneventful and subdued Thanksgiving holiday ushered out the month of November without much ado. Then, in true Sagittarius fashion, December dramatically swept in with the piercing winds and inhospitable temperatures that no one asked for. So now it's basically winter. I have taken to wearing gloves inside.
