I haven't turned into a zombie or grown an extra limb, yet, so that's good. Photo by eberhard grossgasteiger from Pexels. Haiku by me, as usual. #haikusday #millennialAF #kayenjee

In case you've been vacationing on a different planet, or perhaps in Vietnam, you may not be aware of the raging pandemic going 'round. To do my part, I got vaccinated. The very day after discharging my civic duty, the news started fear mongering about potential side effects. My anxiety immediately reunited with its bestie hypochondria. The irrational thoughts began and naturally, I proceeded to freak the f-ck out. A couple of years back, I was nervous about traveling on a plane. My therapist told me that the ride could be a little rough at the beginning, but once the plane reached cruising altitude, it was pretty smooth sailing. Then, he added this nugget of wisdom: "By the time you're that high in the air, you're pretty out of control anyway, right?". To this day, I'm not sure if that was helpful. Worrying about an extremely unlikely outcome isn't helpful, either. As for the vaccine, I'm already at cruising altitude, now I'm just hoping/praying/meditating/coping until I make a safe landing. #millNice photo by Shane Kell from Pexels.
