Episode #8: Inspired by "Morph" (Track 3 from Trench) I, too, have transformed back into the person who doesn't post regularly. Please accept my art as a way of saying, "Sorry, not sorry." Episode #7: Inspired by "Nico and the Niners" (Track 8 from Trench) Is this really art? IDK, but I made it, so I reserve all rights to it. Background pic by Skitterphot via Pexels. Original poetry is mine. I'm working on tying together the intentional and/or accidental correlations between the long narrative poem The Divine Comedy, authored by Dante Alighieri in the 14th century, and the fictional universe explored in the 2018 album Trench by Twenty One Pilots. That will be elaborated upon in a future series, but please, leave your theories in the comments. Now go forth and multiply...my page views! #MPFA #makepoetryfunagain #welcometoTrench #cliqueart #twentyonepilots #poemsaboutsongs #kayenjee
Episode #6: Inspired by "Leave the City" (Track 14 from Trench)
This tortured track speaks to the impermanence of life and the struggle to stay alive. The feeling of being close to death, or constantly dying haunts the main character like the airy delivery haunts the listener. In another context, it could also be addressing the fear that one's talents are finite and will inevitably expire.
Original sketch by me. If you're here for it, link and credit.

Experience it for yourself.
Episode #5: Inspired by "Levitate" (Track 2 from Trench)
One emoji to describe...? Literally and figuratively.
Original artwork by me, kayenjee. Credit required, links appreciated.
As one approaches the window sill, the other encourages them to (learn to) levitate instead. Rise to dominate.

Episode #4: Inspired by "Jumpsuit" (Track 1 from Trench)
If you haven't heard the song or watched the video, yet, scroll allllll the way down to do so. It will provide some context. Plus, it's a bop.
"Jumpsuit, jumpsuit, cover me" = covered by the blood of the Son, represented here (and also in their song "Ride") as the sun.

Episode #2: Inspired by "Cut My Lip" (Track 10 from Trench)
In our second installation of "Poems About Songs", I present artwork and poetry inspired by "Cut My Lip", track number ten of Trench. Like many Twenty One Pilots songs before, it explores the struggle with and commitment to Christian practices and beliefs.

Episode #1: Inspired by "Bandito" (Track 11 from Trench)
Hi, and welcome to Trench. Just kidding, you're on my website, which is less like limbo and more like purgatory. Anywho, the album "Trench" by the rock duo Twenty One Pilots was released to critical acclaim (?) on October 5th-ish, 2018. Their fanbase (the Clique) were delighted, but none more than I who saw an opportunity to commit myself to an entire month of posts synthesizing ALL of the songs on the album into (you guessed it) poetry. Each episode will include a poem and original artwork by yours truly. I am not going in track order, so keep up. If you don't know the tracks, their names, or what they sound like, try Google. It's a modern marvel. To find out what the songs mean, join a monastery of the Skeleton Clique where you can meditate about them in silence for years before triggering a self-induced existential crisis. For reference, check out the song "Bandito" below.

Most likely, no one is that interested in this basic phone-illustrated jpeg that only qualifies as art with the broadest of definitions, but the thirst could be real.
